Jason Zacher has garnered national acclaim as a versatile and promising emerging talent in opera, concert, and musical theatre. Praised for his “resonant baritone voice, acting skills to burn, and most important, an alluring persona that dominated the stage every moment he was on” (Opera News), Zacher continues to captivate audiences with his dynamic presence and vocal command. To date, Mr. Zacher has graced the stages of prestigious venues including Lincoln Center Theater, Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, The Atlanta Opera, The Glimmerglass Festival, Central City Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, Portland Opera, Sarasota Opera, and Paper Mill Playhouse, among others. Notably, he was recently awarded Second Prize in The Lotte Lenya Competition (2024) and named an NY District Winner of the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition (2023).

This season, Mr. Zacher makes his house debut at The Metropolitan Opera as First Priest in the company’s holiday presentation of The Magic Flute and covers The Herald in its production of Otello. He also reprises the roles of Olin Blitch in Susannah with Shreveport Opera and Pirate King in The Pirates of Penzance with Amarillo Opera. Additionally, he returns to Merkin Hall as Benny in Kurt Weill’s Happy End, a co-production between The Glimmerglass Festival and Opera Saratoga.
